I love to doing nail art. Seeing the result of my work is the best thing but doing the nails can be somewhat of a hassle. I'm a perfectionist so if the line isn't straight, I can get a tad bit annoyed and have to quickly fix my mistake. Thank goodness the nail kit that my mom bought me. It contains tubes of nail polish that can be erased with water if it isn't dry. It's an absolute life saver.
Besides doing nail art on myself, I haven't done it many times on other people. So when my friend asked me to do her nails, I wanted them to be perfect. This resulted in me having to paint her nails for about 2 hours (don't worry, we had breaks in between) as I wanted her to love them. We got inspiration off of an Instagram photo but I also gave it my own twist.
WHAT I USED
O.P.I nail envy
wet n wild // i need a refresh-mint
skyists // black
china glaze // white out
(All photos are mine. Please excuse the nail polish on her fingers as we forgot to clean them up before we took the pictures)
I love this colour/design and had so much painting my friend's nails. I hope to have more opportunities to paint nails for my friends in the future.
A special thank you to Jasmine for being an amazing nail model and for also sitting there for around two hours as I tried to make your nails look perfect.
I would like to apologize for my absence on my blog as these past few weeks have been very hectic and busy for me. I love blogging and I enjoy putting out content, but I've simply have not had time for it recently. However, I will resume blogging this weekend and I can't wait to publish another post!
That being said, I thought this quote would be suitable for this post. As you continue with the week, I want you to remember just one word: RELAX. In our society, it's a constant battle to get everything crossed off on our to-do list but don't forget take a break from your hectic schedule. Remember to be present in the moment and just enjoy life. Rest, relax, and refresh.
So I was previously nominated by Chloe and Lova for this award but I didn't realize so that's why this post is so late. But I would really like to thank these two girls for nominated me because it means so much to me. This is my second nomination in the blogging community as I was previously nominated for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award. Thank you so much ladies for this nomination!

ANSWERS TO CHLOE'S QUESTIONS
1. If you could transform into an animal, which would it be?
I would be a koala because they are my favourite animal and because all they do is eat, sleep, and hug things. And I'd be able to hug everyone including my favourite musicians.
2. Your house is on fire, your pets and your family are safe, what one item would you save?
This is a hard question…I really can't choose just one. But if I were to narrow it down, I would have to say either the stuffed animal I had since the day I was born (this is very special to me and irreplaceable) or my computer (this is also very important to me).
3. What is your oldest memory?
I can't exactly pinpoint one…I remember glimpses of pre-school days, my trip to Prince Edward Island, etc.
4. You're going on a very long journey, what do you take with you?
Do I have to say someone I know? Because if I don't, I would say my crush Harry Styles. If it has to be someone I know, I would say my family or maybe even my friends (I've never been on a long road trip with them so I don't know how that would turn out…).
5. What are your top three handbag essentials?
Chapstick, a book, money
6. What is your least favourite colour and why?
Brown because it's kind of a bland colour
7. Favourite book?
The Hunger Games Series but if it's just one book then Catching Fire.
8. Favourite season?
9. What do you consider as a perfect day?
Spending time with my friends, not stressing about anything, laughing as much as I can. That or spending time with my favourite musicians and becoming their friends. (Wow, I talk about musicians a lot)
10. You wake up and discover you're a ninja - what do you do next?
I'd go talk to other ninjas and learn all of their secrets
11. You need some 'me-time' what would you do?
Go on the computer, paint my nails, read, eat, watch a movie
ANSWERS TO LOVA'S QUESTIONS
1. Describe yourself in 3 words.
Hard working, studious, funny
2. Favorite activities to do in your spare time?
Read, go on the computer, hang out with my friends
3. Beach or mountain? Why?
Beach because I love sunny weather. Although, I did get sunburnt last time I went to the beach…But I've never been on the mountains so…I think I'd have to go with the beach.
4. Describe your fashion style.
My friends like to say that my style is preppy hipster and I don't disagree. However, I do find myself changing my style sometimes and buying things that don't fit into the "preppy hipster" style. I just buy whatever I like.
5. Favorite fashion and makeup brand(s)?
Fashion: Converse, Steve Madden, Madewell, Forever 21
Game of Thrones is notorious for its ultra powerful leading lades, unexpected story lines (Red Wedding anyone?), luxurious costumes, and of course, the oh-so beautiful plaits.
Not having watched the show myself, I certainly do not call myself an expert in the show. However, one thing I do obsess over is the braids. So intricately woven... Why doesn't anyone wear their hair like this anymore?
(Source for all pictures above: Pinterest but edited by me)
Well, now you can with these hair tutorials I found off of BuzzFeed!
If you're looking for something to spice up your regular hair routine, here it is! I certainly cannot wait to try these looks out myself.
On a side note, I would really like to start watching the show because I hear it's amazing. I've already watched clips of it and I'm hooked (so that must mean I would be a big fan of the show). I can already tell that Daenerys would be my favourite character. I mean, Mother of Dragons? Seriously, how awesome is that?
Well we've come to the end of this blog post so I leave you with this quote that I just made up myself, "Braid and be a queen."
So it's springtime. And spring means rain. But just because it's pouring outside doesn't mean that you can't still look amazing. Here is some inspiration for pieces that you need in preparation for the rainy weather.
Kate Spade- Felix Rey
Felix Rey - Chanel
Urban Outfitters - ASOS - Anthropolgie
ASOS - Urban Outfitters - Forever 21
Dirty Laundry - Jimmy Choo
Hunter - Burberry - Hunter - Hunter
Personally, I love the rain because it means that I get to wear my Wellies (wellies are a British term for rain boots- I just love this word). And wearing my Wellies make me very happy. I also love how quiet and peaceful the rain is. The only time that I'm not a big fan of the rainy weather is when it either a) is during an inconvenient time or b) cancels my plans. But other that that, rain and I get along pretty well.
I've just been nominated for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award by Angeline and Hannah! Thank you so much to these amazing girls! I'm very excited about this nomination because it's the first one I've gotten since I've started my adventure in the blogging community.
Here are the rules...
1) Link the person who nominated you.
2) List and display the rules.
3) Share seven facts about yourself.
4) Nominate 15 other blogs and let them know they have been nominated.
Seven Facts About Me
- I go through different phases where I like different types of music (I'm currently liking more indie bands)
- I want to visit Greece and Rome one day
- I love amusement parks (especially the roller coasters)
- I have two piercings on each ear
- My current favourite superhero is Captain America (I just watched the Winter Soldier and it was phenomenal. Chris Evans is beautiful and an amazing actor)
- My favourite instrument is the drums (even if I don't know how to play them. I'm determined to learn one day!)
- I have a love for learning new things and skills
So in honour of the Divergent movie premiering yesterday, this post will be dedicated to the style of the factions. If you don't know what a faction is, in Divergent, the world is divided into groups of people called "factions". Each one is based on a virtue: selflessness, intelligence, bravery, peacefulness, and honesty.
The post will hopefully inspire you or give you ideas on how to incorporate the factions into your everyday style. (Side note: this is the first time I've used Polyvore so hopefully I did an okay job of putting together each outfit)
Dauntless: The Brave
The Dauntless are the soldiers who guard the fence around the city. Their style is very edgy. Leather is a definite must in this look.
Colour of Dauntless: black
Amity: The Peaceful
The style of the Amity is very bohomian inspired. This look would be perfect for summer festivals.
Colours of Amity: red or yellow
Erudite: The Intelligent
I would describe the style of the Erudite as preppy-chic. This look would work well for interviews or school.
Colour of Erudite: blue
Candor: The Honest
For the members of Candor, they see everything as black and white. This is why they are good leaders in law.
Colours of Candor: black and white
Abnegation: The Selfless
This look is very classic and causal as Abnegation do not want to draw attention to themselves.
Colour of Abnegation: grey
These looks are very easy to wear and I hope you have fun incorporating the factions into your daily closet. I also hope you enjoy this post as much as I did making it. I'm very proud of this post so I hope you like it!
Ps. The Divergent movie was very good and I really recommend checking it out! And if you haven't read the books, you need to because they are amazing as well.
I'm also thinking about starting a series on my blog about outfits inspired by TV shows and movies but I'm still thinking of a name. Let me know if you have any suggestions for what this series should be titled. It would be greatly appreciated!
So one thing you should know about me is that I am absolutely obsessed with hair. I love hair of all styles and colours! I especially have a weakness for coloured ombre hair seeing as though I have blue ombre hair myself.
Being a hair enthusiast, I am constantly looking for hair inspiration and for new hairstyles to try out. Here are some of my favourites.
You'll definitely be seeing a lot more hair-related posts so be on the lookout for those!
So I finally decided to start my own blog after being an avid reader and follower of multiple blogs. My blogger friend also inspired me and suggested that I start it during my Spring Break now that I have all this free time (thanks Janine!).
In summary, this will be a place where I share my thoughts, what inspires me, and basically any content that I like.
But first, let's get to know each other a little bit. Here are some fun and random facts about me:
I have a lot of goals that I want to accomplish
Jennifer Lawrence is my inspiration
I have a slight addiction to avocados (they're so yummy and healthy as well!)
